The Zoning Hearing Board is appointed by the Board of Supervisors and make independent decisions and determinations on requests for variances, special exception uses, appeals of ordinance compliance determinations by the Township Zoning Officer and any other uses not provided in the Township Zoning Ordinance. The Board meets on the 4th Wednesday of each month at 7:00 p.m. (in case of a holiday, it will be the 5th Wednesday) on an as needed basis.

Requests for Zoning Hearing Board action must be submitted in writing and include the required fee. Requests may be submitted to the Washington Township Municipal Office located at 11798 Buchanan Trail East, Waynesboro, PA 17268. Telephone 717-762-3128, Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

The Zoning Hearing Board members receive a small stipend for each meeting.
