Relocation of Water Main
The Waynesboro Borough Authority has received notification from PennDot that their contractor will be relocating the Authority’s 12-inch water main adjacent to the Memorial Bridge located on State Route 16 on Thursday, November 17, 2016. Work will begin at 9:00 p.m. and should be completed by early Friday morning. WBA customers in the 800 and 900 block of West Main Street and all WTMA customers in the Zullinger service area will experience a service interruption while the relocation work is being performed.
Pursuant to DEP regulations, customers affected by the service interruption are advised to boil their water before using it for drinking, cooking, washing food or brushing teeth. Water can be made safe by boiling it for two (2) minutes at a rolling boil. Boiled water can be stored in a clean, clear container in the refrigerator; alternatively, bottled water can be utilized. This boil water advisory is a precautionary measure to ensure safe water consumption. This advisory will remain in effect for 48 hours and should be lifted on Saturday, November 19, 2016. Customers subscribed to the WBA emergency communication network will be notified by telephone recording when the advisory is lifted. Alternatively, termination of the advisory will be posted on the Borough’s website at: www.waynesboropa.org.
