If you’re planning on doing any building project in Washington Township, the menu items to the left – “Building Information” and “Commonwealth Code Inspection Service, Inc.” – will guide you in getting started.
Building: Your starting point is at the Township office on Welty Road by submitting a “land use permit” application. You can print one from this site by using the “Forms” menu item to the left or by clicking the red "land use permit" above, or you can stop in and get a copy from our Zoning and Code Enforcement Department.
Inspections: Commonwealth Code Inspection Service (CCIS) manages and conducts the township’s inspections. The township must follow Pennsylvania Uniform Construction Code requirements on construction projects located in the township, which means a qualified building or construction code official must inspect plumbing, electrical, structural and mechanical aspects of your project. CCIS reviews plans and specifications prior to construction. CCIS or any Pennsylvania building codes inspector can conduct the required inspections during construction. Be sure to notify CCIS when you select another inspector to conduct your inspections.
