The Washington Township Boulevard Bridge contract was awarded at the Supervisors Regular Meeting on June 2, 2008. Construction is currently underway to complete the bridge over Antietam Creek by April 2009. The bridge piers and foundations, now completed, are supported in place by 8,063 linear feet of steel pilings. The three-span concrete bridge is expected to be delivered and set in place by the first week in November. Work on final road grading, installing guide rails, and preliminary paving could be completed by winter shutdown. The landscaping and final paving will be completed in the Spring, 2009.
