TOWNSHIP OF WASHINGTON NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING AND MEETING CONCERNING AMENDMENTS TO THE WASHINGTON TOWNSHIP ZONING ORDINANCE AND THE WASHINGTON TOWNSHIP COMPREHENSIVE PLAN
Please take notice that the Township of Washington Board of Supervisors shall be holding a public hearing in accordance with the Pennsylvania Municipalities Planning Code Act of 1968, P.L. 805, No. 247, as amended (53 P.S. 10101 et seq.). The purpose of the hearings shall be to gather public comment concerning proposed amendments to the Code of Washington Township and the Joint Comprehensive Plan of the Borough of Waynesboro and Washington Township on Monday, November 18, 2024, at approximately 1:30 p.m. at the Washington Township Offices, 11798 Buchanan Trail East, Waynesboro, Franklin County, Pennsylvania.
Immediately after the public hearings the Board shall consider enactment of the proposed amendments during a regularly scheduled meeting of the Board to be held at the same location.
Please take further notice that copies of the proposed amendments may be examined without charge or obtained for a charge not greater than the cost thereof from the Township Secretary at the Township office building or on the Township’s web page at www.washtwp-franklin.org.

AN ORDINANCE OF THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF THE TOWNSHIP OF WASHINGTON, FRANKLIN COUNTY, PENNSYLVANIA, AMENDING THE ZONING CHAPTER OF THE CODE OF THE TOWNSHIP OF WASHINGTON.
The introductory paragraphs set forth the legal authority for amendment.
ARTICLE 1. The zoning of a portion of one (1) property located on Mentzer Gap Road shall be changed from Agricultural (A) to Low Density Residential (R-1). The tax parcel number, address, and owner for the property is as follows:
11000 Country Club Road (Q-08-025) – Waynesboro Country Club, Inc. The area to be rezoned Low Density Residential (R-1) are depicted in the CURRENT AND PROPOSED ZONING BOXES on the attached Exhibit “A”.
ARTICLES 2, 3 AND 4. Articles 2, 3 and 4 contain savings, severability, and effective date clauses.
COMPREHENSIVE PLAN AMENDMENTS
The following amendments to the Washington Township Comprehensive Plan will be considered by the Washington Township Board of Supervisors.
1.Amends the Future Land Use Plan, Figure 4-1, and the Future Land Use and Target Areas Plan, Figure 4 2, to reflect the proposed zoning changes as set forth in Article 1, Section 1, of the proposed Zoning Ordinance
Amendments above.
